Five Minute Easy Gluten Free Pizza Crust Recipe
I’ve tried a number of gluten free pizza crusts, and some were good, but they all took so long to make. As a busy wife and mom, I couldn’t spend two hours making pizza from scratch. Eventually I came up with this super fast and easy gluten free pizza crust. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does!

Five Minute Easy Gluten Free Pizza Crust
- 1 cup warm water (not hot)
- 1 T sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp. (1 packet) gluten free active dry yeast
- 1 1/4 cup brown rice flour, plus more for dusting pan, OR pumpkin seed flour for a lower carb option!
- 1 1/4 cup tapioca flour or cornstarch
- 1 T xanthan gum
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 T olive oil
- Optional: fresh or dried herbs such as rosemary, garlic, onion powder, basil and oregano
I get my gluten free flour in bulk from Azure Standard, a natural foods co-op that delivers to most of the US.
Preheat oven to 400F. Stir sugar and yeast into warm water in a small bowl or glass measuring cup. Mix dry ingredients in the bowl of your mixer. When yeast mixture has foamed up, add the olive oil and pour the whole thing into the flour mixture. Stir on medium speed for about 2 minutes. Dough should be soft enough to roll out. Grease a large pizza pan and dust with rice flour. Plop the dough right on the pan, dust a little more flour on top of the dough and roll or press out to the edge of the pan. Place in the oven to precook for 10-12 minutes while you are prepping your toppings. Top pizza and return to oven till cheese is melted and crust is golden. Optional: sprinkle some fresh basil on top before serving. Yum!
- For a dairy free option, substitute mozzarella with rice cheese or almond cheese
